Ah, hello everyone. Here we go,
the fifth Kim Possible the College Years episode. I made the deadline yet again.
I hope you enjoy the episode.
Kim Possible
The College Years
“To Cheer, Or Not To Cheer”
By: Linear Ranger
The lab was nearly covered in darkness, that was
except for one beam of light that was being darted around the room. As the light shown around the room, one
could tell that this facility was not one for just anyone to access. There were computers and highly scientific
tools scattered neatly through the room.
Finally, one sign near a door explained the room as “Lazix Lab II.”
The only sounds that could be heard were that of two
sets of feet quietly creeping throughout the room. The one holding the flashlight was in front. She was clad in a green and black spandex
style outfit. Following behind her,
looking around the room attempting to locate something, was an older male, with
blue skin, a darker blue lab coat, and black hair tied off into a small
ponytail in the back.
“So why are we
‘outsourcing’ again,” the raven-haired female asked in annoyance.
“I told you
Shego,” the blue skinned mad scientist began to answer in frustration, “The
Lazix Cyno Decoder is the only device capable of handling the sequencing for my
new…”
But before Dr.
Drakken had a chance to finish, the light passed over exactly what the two had
come for. There on a lab table, resting
on a clear glass case was a purple, rectangular box. It was about two inches thick, five inches wide and eight inches
long. Each side of the box had
odd-looking cable connector ports.
After the light
revealed the item to Drakken, he stopped in his rant and ran immediately over
to the desired object. Shego remained
standing there, holding the flashlight and still looking annoyed.
“Yes, the Cyno
Decoder is mine,” Drakken began his rant again, “Once this is installed into my
Zinocor Laser, the world will bow to me.”
“Okay so can we
just grab the thing and go, before you know who shows up,” Shego said. But before Drakken had a chance to take the
decoder, the main lights to the lab room were flicked on and an all too
familiar female voice said, “Too late, you know who is already here.”
Though both
Drakken and Shego’s eyes were adjusting to the room’s lights, they were able to
make out exactly who had said the statement.
There in the doorway of the lab stood, of course, Kim Possible and Ron
Stoppable. Both of them clad in their
Battle Suits and smug grins on their faces.
Drakken’s anger
was ever present as he growled, “Shego!”
“On it,” the
feminine fighter said as she thrust her hands to her side, thus causing them to
become engulfed in green plasma. Shego
jumped into the air towards the teen heroes and used her right hand to throw a
blast of her green plasma at them. Kim
jumped to her right, while Ron let a yell and managed to jump to his left. The plasma hit the floor, but Shego still
went after Kim.
The two females
engaged in their normal combatant dance of blocks, kicks, and punches. Shego went with a punch, but Kim would throw
her arm up in time to block it. Kim
tried a tornado kick, but got caught in mid air and then thrown across the
room. The hero’s cheerleading over the
years helped as she managed to regain her balance in the air, and thus landed
gracefully.
Kim saw Drakken
take the decoder from it resting place and start towards the door, at the far
end of the lab.
“Ron, get Drakken
before he gets away with the decoder.”
Ron sprung up from
where he was crouching and started sprinting towards Drakken. Meanwhile, Shego and Kim continued their
battle.
“Drakken,” Ron
yelled at the mad scientist.
The blue skinned
male turned around but didn’t see anyone.
Drakken paused for a moment to try and comprehend why he had heard his
name called out from behind him, but yet no one was there.
“Overhere,” Ron
voice came again from behind Drakken.
Drakken turned
back around to where he had been running, and there saw Ron.
“Surprise.”
“Oh joy the
buffoon.”
Ron crossed his
arms and scowled at Drakken.
“Oh fine,
STOPPABLE.”
“Better, now hand
over the decoder.”
“You’ll have to
catch me first.”
With that Drakken
started running off in the opposite direction.
Ron looked at his
right wrist, smiled and said, “No problem.”
He pointed his
wrist at Drakken’s running feet and then fired a grappling cable from his
wrist. The cable caught up with the
villain’s feet quickly and entangled them.
Drakken’s arms went up as he went crashing to the floor. However, the decoder went flying from his
hands and then flying through the air.
All four humans in the room had their eyes wide, seeing the device
airborne. Just as the decoder was about
to crash on the hard titled floor, a little pink Naked Mole Rat popped out just
in time to catch it.
“Spankin catch
Rufus,” Kim called out and then sent a kick to Shego’s mid section, thus
sending her crashing into Drakken, on the floor. Since Ron had retracted his grappling line, Drakken managed to
get up.
Now Drakken and
Shego were cornered with their backs against one another.
“Ya know I think
the Federal Prison has a couple of free cells that would do nicely for you
two,” Kim said with a wide, confident grin.
“Not this time Kim
Possible,” Drakken called as. He then
pressed a remote device.
Mere seconds after
the remote was activated, a large junk of the tall ceiling crashed in. Kim and Ron had to duck down and cover their
heads. A few seconds after they were
able to get back up and look at the ceiling, what they saw were Drakken and
Shego on a platform, attached to a cable, which was being pulled by
helicopter.
“Later losers,”
Shego called back to Team Possible as the helicopter flew off into the darkness
of the night.
Kim and Ron could
only stand there and watch as their foes escaped.
Kim let out a sigh
of disappointment.
“Hey,” Ron started
in an attempt to cheer his girlfriend up, “At least the decoder is safe.”
Kim smiled,
“Yeah.” She looked at a clock on the
wall that read ten thirty. A yawn
escaped Kim as she said, “We’d better get back to the dorms.”
About a half hour
or so later, in the typical multiple storied and acid bath lair of Dr. Drakken,
the defeated mad man was pacing back and forth in the main room ranting.
“Why do they
always show up! You’d think that just
once, just ONCE, they’d take a day off.
Villains are allowed to have vacations, shouldn’t heroes do the same and
allow our kind to have some time in the spotlight.”
As her boss
continued his mindless ranting and raving, Shego rolled her eyes, looked and
the clock and interrupted, “Well, if you’re going to be up ranting all night,
I’m gonna jet for the night. I’m tired
and beat. See ya in the morning.”
As Shego turned
and started for the door, Drakken got an idea in his strange mind of his. Just before Shego could get to the doors for
them to open themselves, Drakken ran in front of her and grabbed her shoulders
saying, “Shego! That’s it!”
“What’s it,” she
asked, though not really wanting to here another long rant.
“Being tired.”
She rolled her
eyes and said, “Complete sentences Dr. D.”
“All we have to do
to defeat Kim Possible,” Drakken started as he went to pacing once more, “Is
tire her out.”
“And how, may I
ask, are we supposed to tire her out?”
“We’ll simply
brake into laboratories in other countries, and when Kim and her buffoon
boyfriend show up, we’ll escape, leaving them tired from the trip. Then after doing this enough, we’ll be able
to break back in and steal the Cyno Decoder.”
“Fine whatever,
but I’m not cashing in my frequent flyer miles this time,” Shego said exasperated
and then left the room.
It was about
eleven o’clock at the Tri City University Delta Dorm. Kim and Ron had made their way back to their college home and
were outside their dorm room doors, still wearing their Battle Suits. While the two were already really tired, Kim
seemed to be showing it more than usual.
She was hunched over a bit, instead of her typical up right
posture. Plus her eyes were barely able
to stay open.
“Goodnight KP.”
Kim looked at Ron,
smiled, stood up right and gave him a peck on the cheek and said through a
yawn, “Goodnight Ron.”
“You okay KP,” Ron
asked a bit concerned.
“Yeah, I’m just
really beat after the trip to the Lazix Lab.
All I need is a nights rest and I’ll be fine. No big.”
“Okay, night
Kim.” Ron gave Kim a peck on her cheek
and then went into his room. Kim
followed suit and entered her room. The
room was only lit by the moon light that shown in through the glass balcony
doors. Kim walked, or more correctly,
stumbled towards her bed. As soon as
she reached the side of piece of furniture, she fell face first into it. Her head landed into a pillow and she
mumbled from it, “Power down.”
The Battle Suit
acknowledged the command. The suit soon
separated back into tiny Nano Bots, and they were quickly sucked back into the
watch Kim wore on her left wrist. Back
in her normal clothes, Kim fell off sleep within mere seconds.
The next morning,
the sun cast it life light across the college campus. The morning dew shown brilliantly and the brisk breeze gave the
sense that fall was quickly approaching.
Kim and Ron had finished up their routine morning run and exercise
routine, and were now outside the entrance to the Delta Dormitory. Kim was sitting on bench, while Ron was
leaning on a beam, across from Kim.
They both were sipping fresh, cold bottled water. Kim was smiling as she gazed out across the
open campus, while Ron was just enjoying the cool morning and finally getting
to rest. However, he was soon startled
again.
“Ron look,” Kim
exclaimed as she point to something near Ron.
Ron reacted by
dropping his bottle of water and ducking down, expecting something attacking
him as he said rapidly, “What? What is
it? Where is it?”
Kim giggled a bit
at her boyfriend’s reaction, “No, nothing bad Ron. Look that poster.”
Ron turned to see
a poster on the next pillar, about five feet to his left. The poster was bright neon pick and had a
silhouette of a cheerleader in a cheer stance.
In black bold lettering were the words “Tri City University Cheer
Tryout. Come show us your Tiger
Spirit! Tryouts will be held Friday the
fourteenth at the University Arena.”
Kim had gotten up
and was reading the poster over again with an egger smile on her face.
“So you gonna try
out,” Ron asked.
Kim crossed her
arms, grinned and said, “Of course. I
don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t”
But before
anything further could be said, an un-welcoming voice came from behind Kim.
“I don’t think you
should K,” the snide voice said.
Kim turned to see
Bonnie Rockwaller standing there with his patronizing smile. She was wearing a pink skirt and a white
tank top, with her hands at her hips.
“What’s the matter
B, afraid of a little competition,” Kim asked as she shot daggers at Bonnie
with her eyes, though smiling with confidence.
“Me? Pasha, as if anyone could come close to
competing against me.”
“Gee Bonnie, as I
remember, I was the squad captain back in High School.”
“Yes, but really
Kimmie, high school is soooo minor leagues.
This is college dearie, and well, I think we all know that only one of
us has what it takes to make it in these ranks.”
“Oh I’ve got what
it takes Bonnie, that is unless they’re looking for cheerleaders that learn to
spell by their cheers?”
Kim finally got
under Bonnie’s nerves, as she asked with anger, “What are you saying K?”
“Well, maybe you
might want to practice a cheer spelling ‘Disappointment’, since you’ll find out
what it is soon enough.”
Bonnie huffed in
arrogance and regained herself to say, “Really Kim, I was just trying to look
out for you. After all, I don’t want
you to end up to heartbroken over not making the squad. But if you insist, I guess you’ll have you
loser boyfriend to cry to.”
That again was the
last straw for Kim. She hated it when
people called Ron names, though no one really did any more besides Bonnie. Ron himself didn’t care. He saw it as he knew and liked who he was,
and it didn’t matter what the rest of the world thought of him, so long as he
had Kim, Rufus, and his family, he was set.
However, Ron knew Kim was steamed.
He and Rufus had been standing a bit behind Kim while the verbal battle
was going on.
Kim was about to
blow her lid, but before she could the normal sound of the Kimmunicator beeping
sounded and caused her to break away from Bonnie. Kim quickly reaching into her jogging pants pocket to pull out
the device. Taking advantage of the
brief distraction, Bonnie used this moment to walk away with the last word,
“Toddles K.”
Kim growled, pressed the main button on the
Kimmuicator, activating the communication link. Wade shortly appeared on the oval shaped screen. He turned to face Kim just in time to see
her anger filled face.
“What is it?”
“Whoa, what
tweaked you,” Wade asked, though a bit sorry he had asked.
Kim at first just
scowled, but then noticed that Wade’s face went to mouthing, “Ooohhh.”
Kim was a bit
confused for a second, but she then realized what was going on. She turned her head around quickly to see
Ron’s face, with him saying, though not out loud, the word ‘Bonnie’.
Kim’s scowl was
now on Ron, though he quickly turned on his goofy grin.
“Heh, hi KP. Love ya.”
Kim couldn’t stay
angry, just that goofy smile Ron had, plus the fact that she always loved
hearing the words ‘love ya’ coming from Ron.
A smile returned to Kim’s face as she turned back around to the
Kimmunicator screen.
“Sorry Wade.”
“Bonnie being her
usual self,” Wade asked.
“Worse,” Ron said
over Kim’s shoulder.
“Much worse,” Kim
agreed.
“Ouch, well I hate
to bring in more bad news, but we just got a hit on the site.”
“Drakken and Shego,”
Kim asked.
“Yeah, but it’s
weird.”
“What’s so weird
about Drakken and Shego,” Ron asked.
“Well, they go
from breaking into the Lazix Lab last night, but now they’re all the way in
Australia in some Processor Labs.”
“Australia,” both
Kim and Ron both asked in confusion.
“Yeah, that got me
too, but that’s where they are, and security cameras inside have been
disabled.”
“Okay Wade, we’ll
get changed and be on our way,” Kim said.
“Gottcha, I’ll let
the authorities know that you’ll be there shortly.”
The Kimmunicator
screen returned to that of the normal ‘KP’ logo. Kim put the device back in her pocket. Her and Ron turned to start heading into the building.
“All right
Australian strudel for breakfast,” Ron said with excitement, to which Rufus
responded by rubbing his stomach.
Kim grinned,
rolled her eyes and said, “Uh no Ron, you’re thinking of Austria.”
“No strudel,” Ron
asked a bit let down, as he and Kim got into the dorm elevator.
“No strudel, but
we’ll hit a Bueno Nacho on our way back.”
“Booyah!”
The Processor Lab
was one you could expect. There were
some computer systems spread throughout the entire white room. There were also a few sets of computer
controlled robotic arms in different places.
Tied to a support beam in the room, were a group of about four
scientists, all of them wearing white clean room suits, to keep germs and
bacteria from spreading throughout the room.
Though all four of
them were watching the same sight, that being the blue skinned villain pacing
back and fourth throughout the room.
The pace at which Drakken was going, showed that he was quickly losing
his patience. Though the scientists
weren’t the only ones watching their captor, the female henchwoman was sitting
at a computer station, her head leaning on her right palm, and watching in
annoyance at her boss.
“Where are they,”
Drakken asked in anger.
“Would you chill,”
Shego asked while rolling her eyes.
“CHILL? Shego we’re on a schedule here, and I can’t
afford to have my plans delayed.”
“Hey, don’t get
mad with me, you’re the one in charge of this ‘brilliant’ scheme.”
“You just wait
Shego, then you’ll see that my superior intelligence is no match for Team
Possible.”
“Haven’t you
thought that while we’re doing this, that maybe we’ll get burnout out too?”
“Shego please, now
is not the time for petty details.”
As the female
rolled her eyes again, she looked back at the monitor screen. On the screen were about four viewing
panels. Each of them was displaying a
different view of security cameras outside.
Drakken went back to his pacing and thinking to himself how brilliant he
was. A few moments later, the lower
right viewing panel showed the black sports car of Kim Possible flying down
into the parking lot. As soon as the
car touched down, Kim and Ron both jumped out of the vehicle and started
running towards the main entrance of the labs.
Shego had been
watching all of this.
“Dr. D.”
Drakken was still
to distracted thinking to himself to hear Shego.
“Drakken!”
Still no response
from the evil genius.
“DREW LIPSKY!”
Drakken shot back
to reality and said, “Shego, how many times have I told you to never…”
But before he
could finish his statement, Shego had taken the computer monitor and turned it
towards him. He saw Kim and Ron, in
their Battle Suits, quickly approaching the lab.
“They’re here,”
Shego said flatly.
“Ah yes, you see
Shego, just as I said.”
“Yeah, sure, now
don’t you think we better get outta here?”
“Oh right, if you
would,” Drakken said as he pointed with open hand towards a window beside him.
Shego got up from
here seat. Her right fist came up and
became covered in green plasma. Then
the green substance was thrown at the window, and on contact, the glass began
to melt. After a few seconds, a rather
large opening was melted into the window.
Drakken took his key chain out of his pocket and pressed a car
remote. The sound of a hovering engine
soon filled the room, and the sight of Drakken’s flying car appeared outside
the melted window.
Before the evil
duo climbed into the flying vehicle, Kim and Ron burst into the room.
“Hold it Drakken,”
Kim called out.
“You’re too late
Kim Possible!”
By the time Kim
and Ron had gotten to the window, Drakken and Shego had gotten in the car and
were flying off into the sky.
“What,” Ron asked
confused.
All Kim could do
was stand there, with an equal confused look.
However, they
quickly saw the four scientists tied up to the support beam. The two heroes rushed over and untied the
employees.
“Are all of you
alright,” Kim asked.
One of the four
took his white paper helmet off, revealing a male head with brown hair and
mustache. He said in the normal
Australian, “Thank ya shela, we’re fine.”
“Did you happen to
see what Drakken took,” Kim asked as she looked over the lab.
A female scientist
with blonde hair said, “I don’t believe they stole anything.”
Kim and Ron looked
at each other, then back to the scientists, “What?”
The third
scientist, a male, said, “Yes, they just broke in and tied us up.”
“Then they just
started waiting,” the blonde finished.
“But we greatly
thank you for your assistance,” the man with the mustache said.
“No big,” Kim
said.
The scientists
went to exit the lab, leaving Kim and Ron in the room. Kim was looking at the melted window.
“This is just too
weird, why would Drakken and Shego break into a lab and not steal anything.”
“Maybe they
forgot,” Ron suggested as he walked up next to Kim.
Kim laughed a
small bit but said, “Drakken maybe, but Shego wouldn’t let him forget the point
of the break in.”
“Yeah, this is
weird,” Ron said looking around the empty lab.
Kim turned back
around and said, “Well, I guess we’d better get back to the campus. We’ll have to get our missed assignments
from Professor Dean.”
Ron smiled and
said, “Don’t forget KP, you said we’d stop by Bueno Nacho on the way home.”
Kim sighed a bit,
“Ron. We’ve already missed Writing I
this morning.”
“Please Kim,” Ron
begged.
Kim turned back to
Ron, but she saw a powerful weapon being used against her. Ron was giving her, her own puppy dog
pout.
“Okay, okay, well
stop by on the way back.”
“Booyah!”
“I hate it when my
own weapon is used against me.”
The room was void
of all students. Spread throughout the
classroom was twenty or so empty desk/chair combos, all arranged in a half circular
pattern. Even though classes had been
going for a couple of months, the room still had that “new school day” scent to
it. Plus, since the room was on the
third floor of the building, the cool fall breeze blowing in through the open
windows, gave an even more welcoming smell to the room. At the head of the classroom was the
complete opposite of the modern student desk.
It was a very old, wooden, antique teacher’s desk, but not an old
teacher. Instead of an elderly
professor, there sat a younger gentleman, no older than 28, with brown hair and
eyes. He sat in his comfortable desk
chair looking over his state of the art laptop computer and grading
papers. He wore a long sleeve white
button up shirt and a solid, bright red tie.
The instructor kept glancing between student papers he had on his desk,
and the laptop screen. After each few
looks, he would make marks on the paper in red marker, and then go onto the
next paper. He had been doing this for
about an hour, but was soon interrupted.
A sound of a knock
came from the wooden door, specifically a knock against the large glass portion
of the door. He turned his head to his
right, where he could see the entryway of the room.
“Come in,” the man
called to the knock.
The door opened,
creaking in doing so, and a pair of teens popped their heads into the
room. They noticed the instructor was
still paying attention to the papers he was grading. Before entering the room, the red haired female asked, “Professor
Dean?”
Again the
instructor turned his head and saw the red haired female, as well as a blonde
young man. He sat down his red grading
marker, leaned back and said, “Kim, Ron come in.”
Kim finished
opening the door the rest of the way and her and Ron walked in. They were back in civilian clothes. Ron was wearing a green t-shirt and black
jeans, while Kim wore her black, long sleeve shirt and red skirt. Both of them had the usual backpacks with
them as well.
As they walked
into the room and towards Professor Dean’s desk, Ron said, “Yoha Prof.”
“Hello Ron. Another mission this morning?”
“Yeah,” Kim said
apologetically, “Sorry about that Professor.”
“No need to
apologize Kim,” Prof. Dean said as he opened a desk draw, “Let me guess,
Austria this time.”
Kim smiled as she
said, “Close Australia.”
Ron crossed his
arms, being a bit upset and said, “No strudel.”
Professor chuckled
as he pulled out two sheets of paper and handed them to Kim and Ron.
“I believe you’re
here for these. Here are the
assignments you missed. They’ll have to
be turned into me by the end of next week.”
The two looked
over the papers and Kim said, “Thank you Professor Dean. We really appreciate your understanding.”
“Don’t worry about
it. Or as I believe you two would say,
it’s ‘no big.’”
Both teen heroes
smiled as Kim said, “We better get going.”
“Yeah, before
you-know-who catches up with us,” Ron said nervously looking around.
Kim rolled her
eyes, smiling. Though Professor Dean
was a bit stumped as he asked, “Who is you-know-who?”
Before either of
the teens had a chance to answer, a loud commanding voice rang out from the
halls, “Possible! Stoppable!”
All three heads
turned towards the closed classroom door.
Ron started panicking as Rufus popped out and squeaked, “Uh oh.”
“KP, we’re
trapped.”
“No,” Prof. said
smiling, “There is another way out.”
Kim looked around
the room quickly, then back at the instructor and asked, “Where?”
Dean pointed to a
small closet at the far corner of the room and said, “In the closet. At the back of it you’ll find a door that
leads to a stairwell. The stairs lead
down to the ground level. You’ll be
able to exit near the fire escape.”
Ron, filled with
hope and gratitude, grabbed the Professor’s right hand with both of his and
shook franticly while saying, “Thank you thank you thank you thank you.”
The two of them
then darted for the closet door. Kim
opened the door and Ron ran in. Kim
stayed a bit, saying, “Thanks again Professor Dean.”
Dean just
smiled. Kim went in and closed the door
behind her. Just mere seconds after the
heroes had escape, the tall, muscular figure of Steve Barkin entered the room,
almost throwing the door open a bit. He
did not say a word, but just looked around with stern concentration.
Professor Dean
clasped his hands together on his desktop and said, “Ah hello Steve. To what do I owe this visit?”
Barkin, still
keeping his stern look, replied, “Stoppable and Possible. I’ve got my eyes pealed for them. And it’s Professor Barkin.”
“Oh you mean Kim
and Ron?”
“Affirmative. I thought I heard their voices coming from
in here.”
Dean just smiled
as he said, “Sorry I can’t help you Professor, I have not seen them.”
It was clear that
Professor Barkin did not believe him, as he scowled a bit at him and said, “I’m
keeping an eye on you.”
Dean put his right
index finger to his chin, to accent his thinking look and said, “But if you’ve
got your eyes pealed for Kim and Ron, how can you also keep an eye on me too?”
Barkin had no
answer as he growled slightly. He
turned and returned to the halls, slamming the door behind him. Professor Dean just returned to grading
papers as he chuckled.
The large second
floor of the building was relatively empty and quite. Through the entire building itself needed to be quite. The second floor had bookcases spread neatly
throughout the area, as well as wooden tables and chairs. All the windows to the building were open,
letting in the soothing fall breeze. On
the second floor of the university library were Kim and Ron and Rufus. The three of them had been in there for a
couple of hours. They were at a table
near a window, with schoolbooks open, and papers spread out. They were supposed to be studying and
working on homework assignments.
However, after the first hour, Ron had all the studying he could
handle. He was now passed out, his head
on an open textbook, and snoring quietly.
Rufus was sitting on an open library book, which covered the history of
cheese. While Kim would normally be the
opposite of Ron, that being fully awake and concentrating on her work, today
things were off. Kim had her head
propped up by her right hand. She tried
to read the text in the book, but her eyelids felt like lead weights. After she would read a couple of paragraphs,
her eyes would close and she’d start to doze off. Though she’d soon snap herself back awake, only to continue this
on going cycle.
Rufus had taken
notice of Kim’s sleepy behavior, and decided to wake his owner to point the
fact out. The Naked Mole Rat jumped up
from his seat and hoped over to Ron’s shoulder, which he then began nudging and
shaking. A few seconds of this caused
Ron’s head to snap up, though a piece of college writing paper was stuck to the
right of his face.
“Huh, what,
where,” the drowsy young man said looking around.
Ron pealed the
paper away from his face and saw Rufus staring up at him.
“What’s the sitch
buddy?”
Rufus pointed
across the table to Kim, who was again asleep with her head propped up.
Ron was confused
by this sight. He knew it didn’t take
much for him to pass out from studying, but Kim was always the one to stay on
task.
“Uh KP,” Ron asked
quietly.
Kim didn’t even
stir, causing Ron and Rufus to look at one another, a bit surprised.
“Kim,” Ron said a
bit louder.
Now it was Kim who
snapped awake, though not as eventful as Ron.
Kim eyes popped back open and said she, “Huh, sorry Ron what did you
say.”
“Uh you okay KP?”
Kim stretched
trying to wake up more as she replied, “Ron, I’m fine. Trust me, it’s no big.”
Ron still not being
convinced, said, “I don’t know Kim, you’ve been kinda sleepy lately and I just
want to make sure.”
Kim looked at Ron,
a bit stern, “Ron. I said I’m
fine. Yeah, I admit I have been needing
some extra rest, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.”
“What about the
cheer tryouts tomorrow?”
Kim was puzzled as
she asked, “What about ‘em?”
Ron rolled his
eyes a bit and gave Kim a look; he knew that she knew what he meant.
She let out of
sigh and said smiling, “Honestly Ron it’s no big. I can do anything, remember?”
“Just because you
can do anything, doesn’t mean you have to do everything Kim,” Ron replied, “I
just don’t want you to burn yourself out.”
Before Kim had a
chance to reply, the Kimmunicator’s beep rang out from Kim’s backpack on the
floor. Kim reached down and pulled the
shinny metallic device from a pouch, pressed the main button and said, “What’s
the sitch Wade?”
The screen
developed into a picture of the young teen genius, sitting in his Command
Center of a room. He looked away from
one of his computer monitors and said, “I’ve got another location on Drakken
and Shego.”
“Where now,” Kim
asked in her serious tone.
“They’re in London
at a Crystal Power Cell Laboratory called Crystal Sonics. The place has been evacuated, but the
security cameras have been taken out again.”
“Okay Wade, we’re
on it.”
The main
laboratory for Crystal Sonics was dark.
Even the light being emitted inside the room was not giving that much
light. That dark blue light was coming
from the energy tubes in which the Crystal Power Cells were being created and
tested. The majority of the room was
lined with these devices, while the rest had robotic hand controllers that
would then handle the power cells.
The blue skinned
villain, who looked even more blue than usual, was walking around the room
looking at the Power Cell Tubes.
Meanwhile, the henchwoman was utterly bored as she sat at a table. A laptop sat in front of her, and like in
Australia, the company’s security cameras were being projected onto the screen
of the portable computer.
Shego yawned and
said, “You know I really think it’s a waste for us to be breaking into these
places and NOT stealing anything, while we have a chance.”
“Shego, I told
you, we’re not window shopping with these excursions.”
“Fine, I just
thought it’d be nice to get something useful out of these trips,” Shego said
while rolling her eyes over the ignorance of her boss.
Drakken looked at
his reflection in one of the blue tubes and asked, “Do I look pale Shego?”
All Shego could do
to respond was scowl. However, before
she could muster any kind of comment, the arrival of Team Possible appeared on
the laptop, in one of the viewing screens.
“They’re here,”
Shego said watching as Kim and Ron were now running to the lab.
However, Drakken
was too busy looking at his own blue reflection to hear Shego.
“Drakken!”
He turned to his
henchwoman in anger, but that was quickly resolved as Shego turned the laptop
towards him and said, “They’re coming.”
Just as Shego had
said that, Kim and Ron kicked open the main door with Kim saying, “Correction,
we’re here!”
There they stood
in the doorway, in their Battle Suits and ready for a fight. Shego and Drakken immediately started
running for the far back end of the room.
Ron and Kim started after them and soon had the villains trapped. Drakken and Shego had their backs to the
wall, literally, and had nowhere to run.
“Looks like you’re
out of luck this time,” Kim said.
Shego glanced to
her side and saw a completed Crystal Power Cell being held by two robotic
arms. It was glowing blue cube, about
five inches square all around.
“Good thing I’ve
got a good luck charm,” Shego said with an evil grin.
She took the Power
Cell in her hand and threw it in the air, saying, “Catch.”
Kim and Ron’s eyes
went wide as they saw the object in mid air.
They both knew that if the Power Cell hit the ground, the power released
would be incredibly destructive. Kim’s
cheerleading skills kicked in again as she started doing a few back flips and
then jumping straight out forward. She
flew horizontally through the air, with her arms out in front of her, just in
time for the Crystal to fall perfectly into her hands. Ron was just in shock as he watched Kim
maneuver so gracefully and make the perfect catch.
Kim got back up,
the crystal safe in her hands, and sighed over escaping that danger. Ron ran up to her saying, “Great catch KP.”
Kim sat the object
down carefully on a nearby table as she replied, “Thanks, but where did…”
Kim did not finish
her statement as she and Ron looked back to where Drakken and Shego had been
standing, but they were now gone. Ron
noticed a side door just beginning to close, and ran for it, Kim following
behind him. By the time they made their
way out of the door and into the hall, Drakken and Shego were at the far end of
the hall. Shego had again melted a
window and they were getting into Drakken’s hovercraft.
“You’re too late
again Kim Possible,” Drakken yelled out mockingly as the craft flew off.
When Kim and Ron
ran for the window, the only sight they were able to see was the hovercraft
being lost in the sky.
“They got away
again,” Ron asked, not really believing the fact.
“But, they didn’t
take anything,” Kim stated, equally confused as Ron.
“This is getting
too weird,” Ron said.
The next day, Ron
was sitting in Kim’s dorm room, on her bed, watching as Kim practiced her
cheers for the Tryouts later that afternoon.
She wore her maroon and pink long sleeve shirt with kaki cargo pants,
along with blue pompoms in her hands.
“Who are the
mightiest fighters? We are! The TIGERS!
We are the best in town, cause we will never back down! Get ready for tonight! Go tigers, fight fight fight!”
This cheer Kim
practiced time and time again, trying it out with different cheer moves, though
limited a bit by the dorm room space.
The last routine Kim ended by doing the splits on the floor and having
her arms up in the air. Sounds of a
human pair of hands clapping, as well as those of a Naked Mole Rat, came from
the bed. Ron sat there applauding his
girlfriend’s numerous cheer routines, while Rufus clapped from Ron’s shoulder.
Kim got back on
her feet, a bit out of breath from the numerous, consecutive cheers, and asked,
“So what did ya think?”
Ron just smiled
and said, “You were great. They’d have
to be insane not to have you on the squad KP.
But are you really sure you wanna do this?”
“Really Ron, I
appreciate the concern but I’m sure. I
can handle this, no prob.”
Kim glanced at her
alarm clock as it read twelve o’clock noon.
She yawned a bit from being tired and said, “But I don’t think it would
hurt to try and get some rest before the tryouts.”
“Good idea,” Ron
said as he got up from Kim’s bed and started for the glass balcony door, while
Rufus crawled down and back into Ron’s pocket.
“I’ve set the
Kimmunicator for One Thirty,” Kim started, “That’ll still give me an hour and a
half before the tryouts are scheduled to start.
“Gotttcha, I’ll be
playing some gameage in my room if ya need me.
Sleep good KP.” Then Ron left Kim’s
room and headed for his. Kim sat the
Kimmunicator on her nightstand. She lay
down on her bed and was completely asleep within a minute or two.
Ron and Rufus were
back in Ron’s room, sitting on his bed playing a video game. It had been about twenty minutes since they
left Kim’s room. Ron had his
Ronnunicator sitting right next to him on his bed. Just then, the red and white metallic device started to ring with
its distinctive beep, but before it could get to its second beep, Ron had
snatched it up and pressed the answer button.
Wade appeared on
the screen, looked odd at Ron and said, “That was quick.”
“What’s the sitch
Wade,” Ron asked with Rufus now his shoulder.
“I’ve found
Drakken and Shego again. They’re back
at the Lazix labs.”
“Okay Wade, I’m on
it.”
“What about Kim?”
“NO! Don’t tell Kim. She’s asleep and she needs her rest for the tryouts this
afternoon. Besides, I think I can
handle Drakken and Shego on my own,” Ron said with confidence. However, his confidence did not convince
anyone else, as Rufus and Wade both gave him weary looks.
“What?”
“Okay, if you’re
sure you can handle it on your own.”
“Trust me Wade, I
gotta do this for Kim. So whatever you
do, don’t tell her.”
“Okay buddy.”
Wade ended the
call and Ron lowered the device back down on the bed. He raised his left wrist up, pressed the face of his watch and
called out, “Battle Up!” As always the
Nano Bots soon covered his body and formed the powerful Battle Suit. Rufus picked up the Ronnunicator and jumped
into the holster on Ron’s leg. Ron
walked out onto the balcony, gave a quick glance into Kim’s room to make sure
she was asleep, which she was, and then activated his helmet. With that done, he pressed a spot on the top
part of his gloved hand. A beep sounded
and within seconds, Ron’s scooter was hovering right next to the balcony. He jumped over the railing and onto the
hi-tech vehicle and then flew off heading for Lazix Labs.
Drakken and Shego
were again back in Lab Two of the Lazix Lab.
Only this time instead of breaking in quietly, like from a few nights
before, they had forced their way in.
Well, actually Shego had used her powers to force a way in for
them. The scientists working the lab
had evacuated for their own safety. Law
enforcement had surrounded the building, but were still waiting for Team
Possible to arrive before they would engage.
In the lab, Shego
was standing with her arms crossed looking extremely furious. She stood next to a large glass security
case, in which the Cyno Decoder was stored.
These new security measures had been taken since the first attempted
theft. Drakken was working at a
computer that controlled the case, trying to unlock the code and free the
decoder.
“So explain to me
why I can’t just shoot at that case and get that box of techno junk?”
“Because Shego,”
Drakken started to answer as he worked at the computer, “if you do manage to
break though this case, you may do damage to the decoder and we can’t risk it.”
Shego had no
response, since she knew Drakken was actually right this time. But as a few more minutes passed, they were
surprised by what happened next. The
main entrance door to the lab flung open and Ron ran in saying, “Hold it right
there you two!”
Drakken and Shego
both stood there confused. They looked
at each other, then around the room, and then back at Ron. They both asked, “Where’s Possible?”
Ron stood in a
battle ready stance and said, “What’s the matter, afraid you can’t take on the
Ronster?”
Shego grinned
evilly as she said, “Okay, if that’s the way you want it.” She thrust her hands to her sides and
powered them up. Then she started
running at the hero, jumped in the air and threw a couple of plasma blasts at
him. Ron saw the green glowing goo
heading for him, gulped and said, “Oh boy.”
Back in Kim’s dorm
room, the timer on the Kimmunicator finally reached One Thirty in the
afternoon, and a rapid beeping started emitting from the device. Kim opened her eyes slowly and reached for
the alarm. She pressed a button and
stopped the beeping. Kim sat up and
stretched, waking herself up completely.
She got up from the bed and said, “Yeah, I needed that. Better go get Ron.”
Kim went over to
her glass balcony door, opened it, went out onto the balcony and then went into
Ron’s room. She was a bit surprised to
see that the room was empty. She went
over to Ron’s bed and noticed that two game controllers were left sitting
there.
“That’s strange.”
Kim pulled her
Kimmunicator back out and pressed a different call button. This one was made specifically for Kim to
contact Ron though his Ronnunicator.
However, while Ron’s twin device did sound, he was busy ducking and
dodging Shego’s green plasma being thrown at him.
“Okay, now we’re
on bad road,” Kim said realizing something could not be right. She pressed the normal call button to
contact Wade.
“Hey Kim, what’s
up.”
“Wade, where’s
Ron,” Kim saying clear and serious.
“Uh Ron,” Wade
said nervously remembering what Ron had told him.
“Wade you know
where he is, don’t you?”
“You could kinda
say that.”
“WADE! Where is my boyfriend,” Kim now commanded
more than asking.
Wade knew he’d
better tell Kim before this sitch got any worse, “Well, he went to the Lazix
Labs.”
“Why?”
“Drakken and Shego
went back to get the Cyno Decoder.”
“Why was I not told
about this!”
“Ron knew how
badly you wanted to be ready for the tryouts, so he said he’d take care of this
mission on his own.”
Ron’s dedication
hit Kim, as she realized that he was doing this for her, so that she could be
able to do what she wanted. Then she
remembered Ron’s words from yesterday, “Just because you can do anything,
doesn’t mean you have to do everything.”
Kim came back to
reality as she asked, “How long ago did he get to the labs?”
“About half an
hour.”
“I’m on my way.”
Kim ended the call,
pressed the face of her watch while saying, “Battle Up!” Her Battle Suit quickly developed over
her. Kim went dashing out of Ron’s
glass balcony door and then jumped gracefully off the structure. But there hovering in mid air was her black
sports car. Kim landed perfectly in the
drivers seat. She fastened her seat
belt, activated her helmet, put the car into gear and said, “Hold on Ron.” The car then jetted off for the labs.
Ron had used up
everything on the far end of the lab to duck behind. All that remained was one single lab chair, which he decided to
get behind. Shego approached with her
right hand glowing in the air.
Ron laughed a bit,
nervously as he said, “Uh can’t we talk about this.”
Shego kicked the
chair out of Ron’s hands, thus causing him to stumble back and have his back to
wall. As Shego prepared to strike, Ron
turned his head and crossed his arms over his head. However, just as he knew Shego was going to strike, he heard a
kick being made to Shego and then heard a crash to his left. Ron opened his eyes and saw that Shego had
crashed into a metal cabinet, but how?
Then Ron looked up in front of him and saw Kim standing there, smiling
over her perfect kick.
“KP!”
Kim turned and
helped Ron up from the floor.
“What are you
doing here,” Ron asked.
“Ron,” Kim
started, “I appreciate you wanting to help me out, but I really can’t let you
have all the fun.”
Ron smiled as he
said, “Oh yeah well, yeah I was just waiting to make my move, ya know teach
Shego a lesson.”
“Right. But really, thank you Ron.”
“No big.”
“Ah how sweet and
sickening,” Shego’s voice called from the side of the room.
Kim got back ready
to fight and said; “Think you can stop Drakken from getting the decoder?”
“Can do KP.”
Ron started for
Drakken, while Kim started battling Shego.
The evil woman went to slash her right arm down on Kim, but was blocked
by the hero’s left arm. Kim held Shego
there for a minute before thrust her left arm up and then sending a tornado
kick to the villain’s mid section.
Shego immediately responded by throwing two plasma blasts at Kim. Kim’s gloved hands morphed into energy
capture devices that caught the blast and then threw them right back at Shego.
Meanwhile, Ron
approached Drakken and said, “Not this time blue dude!”
But just as Ron
said this, Drakken managed to crack the security code for the glass case. The door sprung open and Drakken took the
Cyno Decoder.
“Think again,
Stoppable,” Drakken said mockingly.
Ron knew he had to
be careful; he couldn’t risk another chance of the decoder being broken, like
before. He stood there carefully
waiting for Drakken to make the next move.
Drakken stood
there and backed up a bit, smiling in triumph, “Ha, you actually believed you
could beat my superior genius.”
But then Ron got
an idea. If he knew Kim’s fighting
style well enough, he knew Shego would soon be thrown across the room and crash
into Drakken. He would just be sure to
time his move perfectly.
Ron was right, Kim
had the upper hand in her fight with Shego.
After a few more blocked hits, Kim managed to grab Shego and sent her
flying across the room, towards Ron and Drakken. Ron saw Drakken’s eyes quickly turn to panic, and then knew Shego
was flying in their direction. The male
hero jumped just in time to avoid being struck, but instead of going just
straight up, Ron jumped forwards towards Drakken. Because of this, Ron was in the perfect spot for when the two
villains crashed. Drakken’s raised hand
lost it’s grip on the decoder, and Ron’s hand was right there to grab it before
it moved even two inches. Ron landed
back on the ground easily, with the Cyno Decoder safe in hand, while Drakken
and Shego crashed into the back wall.
Kim ran up to her
partner and said, “Nice catch.”
“I learned from
the best,” Ron replied with a smile.
As the two turned
to look for Drakken and Shego, they found them gone.
“Not again,” Kim
said upset at the idea of the villains escaping once more.
Ron smiled broader
and said, “Oh, don’t worry, I got that covered too.”
“Really?”
“Yep,” both he and
Rufus said. Rufus’ reply came from out
of the holster.
They walked over
to the window and looked out to see Drakken and Shego caught in a laser jail
cell. The cell was wrapped around them
and the hovercraft.
Ron said, “Figured
I’d make sure if they did get the decoder, they wouldn’t get too far with it.”
“Good job boys,”
Kim said.
Rufus just bowed
from the holster, squeaking, “Thank you thank you.”
“No big KP,” Ron
said and then looked at the clock, “Hey, if we hurry, we can still make it back
in time for you to get to the tryouts.”
Kim smiled as she
had an idea, “Okay, let’s jet.”
About forty
minutes later, Ron was standing outside the Tri City University Area doors,
back in civilian clothes. He and Rufus
were waiting nervously for Kim to come out the doors. Though Ron was wondering why Kim had asked him to stay
outside. He knew there was no way
they’d turn Kim down, so why would Kim not want him to be in there to cheer her
on. Maybe he’d be too distracting; no,
that couldn’t be it.
Ron’s thoughts were
soon interrupted as a far door came banging open. Ron and Rufus both jumped a bit and looked to see what caused the
noise. The sight confused them a bit,
as Bonnie came storming out of the door in obvious anger. Her fists were clinched tight, her arms
straight down at her sides, and she was stomping down the concrete stairs to
the sidewalk. On the way down she
screamed out a very angry and frustrated scream.
Ron and Rufus
looked at each other smiling, knowing that this had to mean that Kim made the squad. Their answer soon came walking out. Kim walked out the door next to them calmly
and smiling. Ron turned and said, “So
you made the squad?”
Kim continued to
smile as she said, “Nope.”
“No,” both Ron and
Rufus asked in unison and confusion.
“Nope, I thanked
them for the opportunity but I said that I had a full plate already.”
Kim elbowed Ron a
bit as she said, “Or as a wise man told me ‘Just because I can do anything,
doesn’t mean I have to everything.’”
Ron smiled and
said, “Yeah, I think that man is pretty smart myself.”
Kim giggled, but
then Ron asked, “So if you turned them down, what’s got Bonnie tweaked.
Kim laughed even
more as she said, “Oh she tried out, but they told her she just wasn’t what
they were looking for.”
Ron and Rufus
joined in laughing as Ron said, “Ouch.”
Author’s Notes:
Well, that’s the end of the fifth The College Years episode. I hope you enjoyed it. Personally, I didn’t think I could enjoy
writing a non-mushy filled episode, but I REALLY liked doing this episode. I wrote it to teach a lesson and have a lot
of action, and I think I did a decent job of it. And had fun doing it too.
