Linear Review
Bandai America has
decided to continue their "Transforming Megazord" line, but it looks
like this year they stepped up a bit more.
I should say first that the Elephant, Bat & Shark Zords included with this Megazord are not the Elephant, Bat & Shark Zords that combine with the Deluxe Jungle Pride Megazord. Those will hopefully be released later in the year. None of the Zords here morph with the DX Jungle Pride, but later Transforming Megazord Releases should be able to combine & morph with this Megazord.
The Five Zords are nicely designed. They're not great, but still not bad in overall looks. Each Zord is missing a bit of paint from the original shown on the box. The Zords can be played with the Jungle Sound Figures. The Elephant and White Puma & Black Leopard Zords can be ridden, while the Shark & Bat Zords have weapon modes for their respective Rangers.
Combining all five Zords to Megazord Mode is very simple. Just a few twists, turns and detachments and you've got it. The Megazord measures just shy of 11 Inches tall. The Shark Fin can be used as a blade/sword style weapon for the Megazord. The overall appearance of the Beast Master Megazord is really good. I applaud Bandai America for really going further this year in the design. The Bat Visor can be lowered to give the Megazord a, as I call it, "Attack Blast" look. By opening the main chest compartment, you can insert one of the Jungle Sound Figures.
Also, if you purchased any of the Jungle Fury Cycles, you can attach them to the Megazord as different arms.
Overall, the Beast Master is a great improvement over the Triple Transforming Megazords of Operation Overdrive. Again, big credit goes to Bandai America for designing a completely new Megazord and having it look very good. The Zords, while simplistic in design, still look good and have enough play value. I think Kids will enjoy this Megazord for its originality and cool design. For Collectors, I'd say if you like the appearance of it, then yes you'll probably enjoy it overall. So Good for kids & okay for Collectors.
