Solar Morpher
Without Ranger Clips Attached

Linear Review
Okay, so for the first
time in Power Rangers history, the Morpher is NOT the same as the
Japanese. Here we have the NEW Solar Morpher, based off the design of the
Rangers helmet visors.
I'll begin by saying that the Solar Morpher is 100% meant for only kids. The span between the sides of the glasses is only 4 3/4 inches, so an adult is very hard-pressed to try and wear this morpher.
The Solar Morpher comes with the Tiger, Jaguar & Cheetah Ranger Clips. Each clip allows a unique sound to come from the morpher. To activate the sounds, you must first press the button and hold onto it until you begin hearing the "Heart Beat" sound. However, do not release the button until the heart beat gets faster & faster. Once the pace has sped up, release the button for the first half of the morphing sounds. Then by just pressing the button once after this, the following sounds will occur:
Tiger Ranger
Clip - Power Up Sound, Roar Sound & "Red Ranger"
Jaguar Ranger Clip - Power Up Sound, Roar Sound & "Blue Ranger"
Cheetah Ranger Clip - Power Up Sound, Roar Sound & "Yellow Ranger"
The clips are easy to switch out. If you press the button without any clips attached, there are no sounds.
The "Ear Pieces" can be somewhat easily removed and used as pretend communication devices. Though personally, I wouldn't recommend detaching them too much.
The Morpher actually has a nose piece on the inside that sits on the bridge of your nose, thus causing the morpher to stick out a bit from your face.
Overall, I give Bandai America, & whoever originally designed this morpher, credit for doing something original. However, the fact that you have to press & hold the button for so long, before the morph sound will activate, that just seems & looks strange. The Solar Morpher is nice in design, but still as an adult collector, I'm still a bit disappointed. I realize these are toys meant for children, but ever since the start of Power Rangers, all the morphers have either been able to be held by adult hands, or worn on adult wrists. The Solar Morpher is clearly only meant for a child to wear. So for kids, I think it is a good buy. It may be a bit different, but still a good toy for kids. For adult collectors, if you just want to have the morpher from the show for your collection, yeah get it. But if you want a Solar Morpher that can be worn by adults, you'll probably want to wait and see if the great Prop Makers in the Power Rangers Fandom can take on this challenge.
