Linear Review
Well, it appears that
Bandai America has decided to give us another version of the Jungle Pride
Megazord. This time around it's a bit smaller, no electronics, but it can
work with the "Roar Max Zords".
Okay, so in order for Bandai America to release the Elephant, Bat & Shark Zords for Jungle Fury, they decided to create them specifically for the "Transforming Megazord" line. This required making another Jungle Pride Megazord, but on a smaller scale.
The Transforming Jungle Pride is made of a slightly lesser quality plastic than the Deluxe Version. It stands about 10 inches tall, so it's about an inch shorter than the Deluxe Version. Everything is basically the same. Granted there's no electronics in the Transforming Version, so no Savage Spin Actions. But you can still manually move the Megazord's waist. Most all of the paint details are still in tact. One extra point is that this version is slightly more poseable than the Deluxe. This is due to there not being any battery pack on the Tiger Zord.
I think Bandai America made a good move with concentrating heavily on the Transforming Megazord Line. Much like the Transformers line, you have the $40 Leader Class figures for die hard collectors and big time gifts for kids, and the Voyager Class for families & collectors that are on a budget. So now with Jungle Fury you get the Deluxe Class for collectors & big gifts for kids, and the Transforming Line for the budget minded.
Overall, this version of the Jungle Pride is still good. While having to manually move the waist for the Savage Spin action is a downer, it is to be expected since the toy is only $20. But still for $20, the detailing is all still there, as well as the playability. I'd recommend this for both kids & collectors on a budget.
