Linear Review
The next installment in the Jungle Fury Weapon Line is the Jungle "Tonfah" Staff.  Why Bandai America spelled it "Tonfah", who knows, but with this weapon you get both the Blue & Yellow Ranger's weapons.

I'll be begin with the weapon in Tonfa Mode.  The two weapons measure about 11 3/4 inches long each.  They're made of normal plastic, except for the actual "attack" portion of the weapon.  This section is made of a thin bendable plastic, thus reducing the risk of injury.  The handles for the Tonfa are just under 2 1/2 inches long.  Only one Tonfa has the battery compartment, and thus is where the Shock Sensor & Sounds come into play.

When you switch it on, you get the basic jungle clash sound.  In Tonfa Mode, there are three sounds.  Two of them are "Charging" type sounds and the other is kind of an Electric Shock Attack sound.  The actual "Charging Area" like that seen in Jungle Fury, does not spin, like the Japanese Toy Counterpart.

Moving on, you can next put the handles in the horizontal position, this is done via the Handle Release Buttons, and convert the weapon to either Jungle Clubs or Jungle Bo.  I should note that the Jungle Clubs aren't really an "Official" weapon, but the Japanese GekiTonfa showed this mode as an extra weapon, so I just wanted to throw it in here too.

The Jungle Bo measures just about 24 inches in length (about 3 1/2 inches shorter than the Japanese version).  For this mode, there are only two sounds activated by the Shock Sensor.  First you have the general Air Swoosh sound.  The other is the same Electric Shock Attack sound from the Tonfa Mode.

Overall, the Jungle Tonfa Staff is a decent weapon.  I'm disappointed that the length of the weapon was shortened.  The Charge Area being stationary isn't that big of a deal.  I like the three in one weapon concept, and the fact that you get to have the weapon that the Yellow Ranger uses is always a plus, seeing as how the female Rangers are always cut short on any toys relating to them.  The action sounds aren't anything that special.  I think kids will enjoy this weapon, but collectors may not be too hot for it.  Some collectors might be able to customize the toy to add some extra length to it, but I'm not sure.  So the Jungle "Tonfah" staff gets a good for Kids and an okay for Collectors.
