The Mega Mission Helmet makes a return for the Jungle Fury Toyline, and it's improved since last year.

I gotta say first off, this helmet looks awesome.  Bandai America did an great job making this thing look 98% accurate to the Jungle Master Red Ranger's Helmet.  The only thing lacking is the white paint on the lower sides.  There are adjustable straps that you place in the helmet, to keep it in place as you wear it.  Like last year, the Mega Mission Helmet is meant for kids to wear, but can be worn by some adults too.  For adults, it'll probably cover most of your head, but still leave your jaw and chin out at the bottom.

There are two buttons on the helmet.  Button one, on the left side as you're looking at the helmet, when pressed will go through a number of Jungle Fury sounds and sayings.  Bandai America did a decent job in getting someone who sounds a bit like Jason Smith (Casey) for the sayings.  Button two, on the right side, will then take you through the audio missions for kids to listen & play along with.

Bandai America has now added the Jungle Fury Helmet Software to www.bandai.com/powerrangers.  Once downloaded and installed, you can access 23 different Missions for the Mega Mission Helmet.  The Missions can only be downloaded one at a time though.  The average download time for a mission is about five minutes or less (for high speed internet connections).  Each Mission has four segments to it.  The first is the general explanation of what the mission is.  Then the second & third parts are the "battle" phases of the missions.  Finally, the four part is the congratulations portion & reminding you to download a new mission to your helmet.

Now overall, the Missions have a very similar tone to the Operation Overdrive helmet.  All lot of them deal with the team having to get jungle items from locations or back from Dai Shi.  They do have one mission that focuses on the Crystal Eyes though.  Bandai also took a lot of creative license with the stories in the missions, where the Rangers have blasters & use vehicles & weapons not used or seen in the show.  Plus, most of the monsters are just ones Bandai came up with, but they do have the "Young Ranger" fight Porcupongo.  But, one that threw me for a loop, is that they also have you fight Serpentina, as in one of the Ten Terrors from Power Rangers Mystic Force.  As for the voices of the characters in the missions, the person that is supposed to be RJ sounds nothing like him.  But the guy for Dai Shi, is no where close to sounding like Dai Shi does in the show.

I am very pleased with the helmet this year.  As I said, Bandai America did a great job in making this look like the Jungle Master Red Ranger's Helmet.  While the missions are really not tied directly to the continuity of the show, kids will probably still enjoy playing them out.  Collectors, if you want a relatively cheap display helmet for Jungle Fury, this is the way to go.  It looks great sitting on a table, shelf or desk.  Plus for collectors it's fun to walk around the house and surprise people when they see you with a Ranger helmet on.  So the Mega Mission Helmet is a good buy for both kids & collectors.
