Linear Review
In continuation of the
Transforming Megazord Line, Bandai America has given us the Black Lion, Green
Chameleon, Purple Wolf & Claw Cannon Zords, together as the
"Transforming Battle Megazord". Remember, these Zords ONLY morph
with the TRANSFORMING Sized Jungle Pride Megazord.
Okay, let's start with the Claw Cannon Zord. Bandai calls it a Jaguar Zord on the instructions, but you can tell it is based off the design of the Claw Cannon. The legs of the Zord are a bit strange, but this is due to the "connectors" for the Transforming Jungle Pride Megazord. It's easy to morph the Zord into Cannon mode. I think it would be better to use this Zord for a Claw Cannon for the 5 Inch Jungle Fury Figures, because when attached to the Megazord, it just doesn't look that good. Plus, it's a bit difficult to lock on.
The Wolf Zord looks great. The tail is the only area missing paint, otherwise it looks spot on. It can hold the tail in its mouth, just like the Japanese version for the "Spin Attack". It combines with the Transforming Jungle Pride Megazord easily and looks great.
Moving on to the Lion & Chameleon Zords. The Lion is awesome. I can't really find any missing details from the Zord. The Chameleon's tail is missing black paint though. Also, the Chameleon fires out a missile, that is actually it's tongue. When you combine these with the Transforming Jungle Pride, you get the awesome Dark Armor formation, as I'll call it for now. Here is where there are some difference from the Deluxe Japanese Versions. The Black Lion is missing one locking notch on one of his feet, so it just kind swings in place. The Chameleon connector is in the back of it's tail, instead of on its belly. But best of all, the sword formed by the Lion's back & tail actually has a handle that the Megazord holds, instead of resting on the shoulder.
Overall, this Transforming Zord Set is a great addition to anyone's collection. For collectors on a budget, these will work great. Kids I'm sure will love the various formations you can get from the Zords. Granted, the plastic isn't as good as the Deluxe Scale, but it's still sturdy enough to hold up to normal kid play. I do wish we would have gotten a Transforming Jungle Master Megazord, but I know that's not going to happen now. So the Transforming Battle Megazord is a must for kids, and a good buy for collectors.
