Linear's Review:
I gotta admit, this Titanus is really, really cool. The Mix & Morph stuff is just ehh, but Titanus is kinda awesome.
First up comes a warning for parents and collectors. Like the Megazord from the spring, this Titanus comes with a LOT of stickers to place on him. Now I am a very detailed collector, so it took me about 40 to 50 minutes to get all 50 stickers placed correctly on him. So to parents who will likely be asked to put them on the toy for their children, you have been forewarned. But for collectors, the stickers make this Titanus look fantastic. Huge props to Bandai America for again keeping these stickers just like the Japanese versions.
Titanus does require a short bit of assembly. You have to pop his head & neck on, as well as the side armaments, and then the tail and claws. As you push him forward, you should push down slightly on him so that the front wheels have enough friction to make them move properly. This is due to the Mix & Morph base inside him. Another great part is as you push him forward, the back feet even move. The tail cannons can of course be moved to the front and make Titanus ready for battle & carrier form.
Removing the claws to add to the Megazord is easy, but putting them on the Megazord & then getting them back off can be a bit difficult. The front chest cannon is okay in getting off Titanus, and then easily placed on the Megazord. I will admit since the back part of the claws do not move to be flush with the Megazord, it does give it a bit of an odd appearance, but Armored Megazord still looks neat.
To combine the Megazord & Titanus, you simply open the back compartment and place the Megazord in it. The main formation looks okay, though with the chest cannon piece missing from Titanus, it does give a bit of an odd look. And then of course without a Dragonzord to combine with them, there's no real Ultrazord formation. And in case you have not heard or realized, no there will not be a Dragonzord released, at least for the 2010 toy line.
The Mix & Morph is just an extra that I don't pay much attention to. In case you don't know, the Mix & Morph figures can be split up to a head, two arms, chest and legs. Then you can mix & morph all the different parts to form unique Ranger & Megazord forms. The base inside of Titanus allows you to combine the pieces. You place and lock them onto the base, close the lid and roll Titanus forward. When you open the compartment back up, the new mixed & morphed figure will be ready for play. Then to pop them back apart, you pop the Mix & Morph key into the tiny figure's back. It is kind neat having a five full Ranger team of Mix & Morph Translucent Rangers. Though I do now wish that the Translucent Red Ranger had come with his Power Sword in the Spring with that base.
Kids
Kids will probably really get a kick out of Titanus and his armor being able to be added to Megazord. If they are into the Mix & Morph figures, then that feature will be added bonus for them. But the main attraction is Titanus as a Zord himself.
Collectors
I still think collectors will want to pick this Titanus up. Even just sitting on display by himself in Attack Mode, he looks fantastic with all the proper stickers. Yes it would have been great to have a Dragonzord to complete the Ultrazord formation, but odds are that ship has sailed for now. So for $35, I think Titanus is a good deal.
Linear Ranger
I really am pleased with Titanus, not quite as much as I was with the Megazord, but still very good. I cannot say enough how great he looks with the correct stickers on him. The armored Megazord looks cool enough, even with the odd claws sticking out a bit.
