Bouken Medals

Linear Review
I decided I had better be safe than sorry this year, so I went ahead and bought Bouken Silver's Saga Sniper.  After Bandai America did not release the Laser Lamp from Mystic Force, I did not want to take my chances and wait to the last minute like I did last year.

The Saga Sniper is a good weapon, though fell short of some of my expectations.  The Blaster is close to the same size as Suvibuster, but a tad smaller.  It has different laser fire sounds.

Also, the Sniper can work as a real Medal Detector, thus why you are given the three Bouken Medals.  It measures about 18 inches, which for a mode that doubles as a staff style weapon, is a bit short.  In Detector Mode, you can adjust the weapon for sensitivity, pull the trigger, and then begin scanning for medal.  Though it does not detect objects deep in the ground.  You have to actually touch the item with the detector area in order for it to register.  When you do touch a medal object, it will alert you to it.

Overall, after the greatness of the Survibuster & Scope Shot, I was really expecting something along the same lines.  Had Bandai Japan made the Saga Sniper just a tad bit larger, I think I would have given it a better rating.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I bought it, but I just was expecting more.  The Medal Detector feature is nice, but since that mode is also meant as a staff style weapon, it could have been just a bit longer.  I still recommend buying this weapon early, just so you may not be disappointed in Bandai America's version of it.  And if you like Bouken Silver, you'll probably get a kick out of this toy.

Also, for those wondering, I purchased this from flip dude & CS Toy Imports, and I HIGHLY recommend them.
