Linear Review
As always, there's not
much to say about a Soft Attack Weapon. After seeing the normal Drive Lance toy weapon picture on the
Official Power Rangers Site, I decided to buy the Soft Attack
Drive Lance. Then, since the normal Drive Defender in Sword mode isn't
that long, I went ahead and bought the Soft Attack Drive Defender.
The Soft Attack Weapons are actually pretty good. They measures about 20 1/2 inches long. Of course the Soft Attack Drive Lance can't actually have it's claws move, and the blade is stuck in place, but it really is not bad for a cheap soft weapon. The Soft Attack Drive Defender is a real plus for kids wanting a longer Sword Mode of the toy. The Soft Attack Drill Blaster is really the let down of the group. This weapon is not meant to be this skinny, it's meant to be bulky and powerful looking. But if a normal version of the Drill Blaster does not get released, then I guess the Soft Attack version will be the only option (besides importing that is).
Overall, this Soft Attack version may be the better version to buy of the Drive Lance. And the Drive Defender version is good for Sword Play. We will have to wait and see what the normal Drive Lance toy brings to the table. And the Drill Blaster version can probably wait until we know whether or not we get a normal version. But for now, I'd say the Soft Attack Weapons are okay for both kids and collectors.
