Linear Review
Now we have the Second Dualdrive Megazord release of the year.  This time around we get REAL Cement & Crane Driver Zords, along with Drill Driver, Shovel Driver, & Sonic Streaker Zords.  So let's start the reviews.

We'll begin with the Drill Driver Zord.  This time around the Drill Driver is smaller than the first release, and is almost the same size as the Japanese Drill.  However, this Drill Driver's drill cannot move at all and it has no wheels.  So yes, it is a one piece Zord with no moveable parts.

The Shovel Driver is much like the Drill Driver.  The shovel arm cannot move at all and is stuck in the position it has.  It is smaller than the Shovel Zord from the first Dualdrive Release.

Cement Driver is a REAL CEMENT ZORD!  Yes, the Cement Driver has a Cement Mixer Drum.  It has wheels on the bottom that actually roll and is a complete improvement over the first version.  But the drum does not open up.

Crane Driver is like the Cement Driver.  It is a REAL CRANE ZORD.  Again, it has wheels on the bottom and is 100% better than the 1st Crane Driver.  Now I'll explain the Red Crane Hooks / Connector Piece.  For the Crane Zord, this can be used as the Crane Hooks, though it's better to just use the Megazord Head from the first Dualdrive Megazord.  Then, when you form the DriveMax Ultrazord, the Red Connector is used in the front waist area to connect the Gyro Driver to the Dump Driver.

The Drill, Shovel, Cement & Crane Zords can be used as their normal arm formations with the DriveMax Megazord. Finally, this is most amazing to me, it seems as though the Cement, Crane, & Sonic Streaker Zords are actually made of better quality plastic than all the other Zord Releases.

The Sonic Streaker is awesome in most all parts.  The way it morphs to Dualdrive mode is different from it's Japanese Counterpart, in that, its wings can just fold back without black connectors along them.  It is easy to morph from one mode to the next, as well as assemble.

The REAL Dualdrive Megazord Formation (Sonic Streaker, Drill, Cement, & Crane) mode is nice.  It is slimmer than the Japanese Version.  The head has the same lights and sounds from the DriveMax & first Dualdrive.  Again, that light & sound is activated by a button on the head.  However, connecting and disconnecting the Drill, Shovel, Cement & Crane Zords can be a bit tough, since the joints are very tight.

The Ultrazord Formation is not as good as I had expected.  First the visor on the Ultrazord Head is silver, instead of black.  The chest piece is a bit more square shaped than rectangle.  But the point that stands out the most is when you connect the connector for the Gyro Driver, this limits the legs from being spread open.  You can't have the Gyro Driver's Turbines out to the sides, they have to either be closed and at the sides, or open blocking the Dump Driver's wheels.  Plus, thanks to the non-folding Sub Driver, the top of it rubs a bit into the Gyro Driver.

So, for those of you that were wondering, yes to have a good complete set of Zords, you would have to buy DriveMax Megazord, Dualdrive Megazord 1st Release & Dualdrive 2nd Release.  The first release gives you a good Drill Driver & Shovel Driver, a helmet for Super DriveMax and a nice extra Black Dump Driver.  The second release completes the Auxiliary Zord set with a Sonic Streaker, and functioning Cement & Crane Drivers.  Why Bandai America couldn't have packaged DD1 Drill & Shovel Drivers with DD2 Cement & Crane Drivers & the Sonic Streaker, who knows.

Okay, so now for my final verdict.  Yes, this Dualdrive is better in some areas than the first.  But it's still disappointing that you need to buy three Megazords to have a complete functioning set.  Kids I'm sure will love the overall playability of this Dualdrive.  Collectors might actually enjoy this Megazord since it does give you a slim Dualdrive, much like the real one from the show.  But there's still the point of all the Zords being larger than their Japanese Counterparts.  So, for kids who have the DriveMax Megazord, this Dualdrive is a good buy.  For collectors, yeah you might consider picking this Megazord up.  And finally, if you want a complete set of functioning Deluxe Zords, you'll either have to turn to the Japanese Zords, or buy all three Bandai America released Megazords.

For me personally, no the DriveMax & Dualdrive Series of Zords aren't perfect, but I'm not disappointed with my purchases.
