The Epic Red Ranger
Sets from this year's special 15th Anniversary Power Rangers Toy Line.
Each set comes with five Red Ranger Figures. Each figure is in their own unique pose from the show. The figures are fully detailed, from their helmets, to their weapons, and the full paint applications on their backs. These are great collectible pieces, since they are not poseable. A great plus with these figures is that they are not muscular. They are done in normal body forms.
To make a full 15 Red Rangers, Bandai put in Triassic from Dino Thunder & S.W.A.T. Mode Red from S.P.D. It would have been better had they done Alien Red and Quantum Ranger, but the sets are still great.
Some people make question the $22 to $25 price tag for each set, but you have to remember this. Every one of these figures had to have a completely new mould made for it. That means 25 brand new moulds. Whereas other figures just have two moulds, one male & one female, and then different helmet sculpts. So the price really isn't that bad when you get to thinking about it.
Overall, these sets are a must have for most any collector. I truly believe that Bandai America made these for collectors. With them not being muscular, it looks like Bandai heard something the collectors wanted and gave us these, in what could be considered, a Sentai Hero style line. The details in these are spectacular and really go look great on display. For kids, it's a bit more iffy. If the child is a collector, like I was as a kid, then they'll enjoy having these Red Rangers on display. But if they want the figures to play with, then I'd stick with the 6.5 Inch Red Ranger line that will also be released in the 15th Anniversary Line. So a must have for collectors, and an okay for kids.
