DVD Review
Race For Corinth -- Defending The Dome

This second Power Rangers RPM DVD Volume will be released on September 8, 2009.  We'll start, as always, with pictures of the case & disc, and we'll then move onto details of the DVD.  To view the full version of a picture, just click on it.

Okay, now let's start getting to the details.  The cover artwork is nice, showing the Black, Green & Red Rangers at the top, and the Eagle Racer Zord & Tenaya 7 at the bottom.  Like the Volume I DVD before this, the Disc itself is done in a silvery frosted over style, featuring the RPM logo & the DVD title.

As stated before, the episodes on each disc are as follows:

After the normal previews, the DVD starts.  To start, we see the Red Ranger in his Zord revving it up, and then the Ranger's Zords racing into battle.  We then get the Lion Hauler Zord shown on screen for the Main Menu, with the RPM theme tune playing the background.  Each submenu is listed below the Zord.  You can first select to Play All episodes.  Then you have the Episode Selection.  Here we find the five episode selection screen, each showing one picture from that episode.  The next Sub Menu from the Main Menu is the Set Up.  This screen has a Blue Ranger posing for the background, and also has the Ranger's Garage Base music playing.  In this Setup Menu you can select either choose Subtitles or Register Your DVD.  The Subtitles Menu has another Blue Ranger picture for the background, with the Megazord Formation music playing.  For the Register Your DVD Menu, you'll see the Blue Ranger after his Time Burst Attack for the background, and the general Fight Music playing.  Finally, the last Sub Menu is the Sneak Peeks, which mainly just focuses on the titles of the previews.

When you select "Sneak Peeks", you're moved to the usual Buena Vista Home Entertainment Previews area.  For this disc, you can view the following previews:


There are no Bonus Features for the disc, not on the DVD itself and not included with any inserts.  The only inserts included with this RPM DVD are a Disney Blu-ray advertisement.  I'm still a bit disappointed that an RPM insert card listing the episodes on the disc could not have been included. 

All five episodes are in great DVD quality.  However, unlike Volume I where 4 of the 5 episodes did not have the end credits airing on screen at the end of the episode, for Volume II, all five episode have the end credits on screen during the last portion of the episodes.

If you are a fan of Power Rangers RPM, I recommend buying this disc so you can have the second five episodes in good DVD quality.  This season is really enjoyable, so owning the episodes on DVD is a must.  I do hope that sales of these DVDs push Buena Vista Home Entertainment to continue releasing RPM on DVD, so that we can get the complete season on DVD.  I really do want to see the remaining 22 episodes placed on DVD, perhaps later this year and into 2010.
