January 21,
2009:
Okay, to keep
things a little bit more organized, I've decided to just keep this top portion
for any updates that I make to the information below. The data has now
been broken down into sections for "About Disney XD", "New
Series", "Launch Events", "Disney XD Show" and
"Power Rangers RPM".
ABOUT DISNEY
XD
As you can all
ready tell, when you watch Toon Disney, the Toon Disney Logo has been removed
from the screen. In its place, you now see the Disney XD Coming Next
Month. Starting on February 13, 2009, Toon Disney will be rebranded into
the Disney XD Network. The channel number will not change, only the name
& shows on the network will change. This is Disney's effort to try and
have an entire network solely focused on Boys. The shows will be based
around Action, Adventure, Comedy & Sports.
NEW SERIES
The following
are the CONFIRMED Brand New Series that will debuting and airing on Disney XD.
- Aaron Stone -- "Charlie
Landers is the best player in the online game, 'Hero Rising,' with his
unstoppable crime-fighting avatar, Aaron Stone. Charlie's world is changed
forever when a powerful billionaire reveals that 'Hero Rising' is a training
game for real secret agents and then recruits Charlie to become
the real life Aaron Stone. Now, while Charlie keeps his Aaron Stone
identity secret, he must thwart the Omega Defiance, a team
out to destroy the world."
- Zeke & Luther --
"Zeke & Luther" chronicles the comedic adventures of longtime
friends on their quest to become the best skateboarders the world has to
offer, a journey that includes mastering the coolest tricks, entering the
biggest competitions, a road trip to their idol Tony Hawk's childhood home,
a skate-off between Zeke and his summer school teacher (a has-been skater
from the '80s) and encounters with their nemesis, Kojo who, to Zeke and
Luther's chagrin, receives a coveted sponsorship from a top skateboard
company."
- Kid Knievel -- "Kid
Knievel" is the story of a boy - short in stature but big in heart -
who overcomes incredible obstacles in his quest to become the world's
greatest and most extreme daredevil. Inspired by the will and determination
of daredevil icon “Kaptain” Robbie Knievel, the series' main character
Kid (who's real name is Francis Littel) pursues his daily dose of danger
and, as he says, "a whole lot of awesome!" With his loyal friends
Gunther and Sam by his side, his imaginative journey takes him speeding down
a river in a rocket-powered kayak, jumping Dead Man's Drop on a skateboard
and riding a unicycle while blindfolded atop a herd of white rhinos."
- Jimmy Two-Shoes --
"An animated series featuring a thrill-seeking teenager who sets out to
make Miseryville fun and exciting with the help of his two best friends,
Heloise and Beezy. The series was created by Edward Kay and Sean Scott and
is produced by Breakthrough Animation and Teletoon in Toronto."
- Kid Vs. Kat -- "An
animated comedy series about a space alien disguised as a cat and stranded
on Earth. When a boy named Coop Burtonburger's spoiled little sister,
Millie, discovers the cat and brings him home, chaos ensues. The series was
created by Rob Boutilier and is produced by Studio B Productions in
Vancouver."
- Robodz -- "An
original 3D short-form series featuring both CG-animated characters and
live-action backgrounds. It follows an epic battle between the mighty Baddle
alien army (intent on controlling the universe by conquering the Earth) and
three clever little Samurai RoboDz who have nothing but courage on their
side. The series is co-produced by Toei Animation Company Ltd. and Disney in
Japan."
- Bruno the Great --
"An original, animated short-form series about Hero, a boy who has the
ability to master any challenge, and his nemesis, Not, who tries to achieve
all that Hero can, but through a series of increasingly comedic obstacles,
fails to do so. The series is produced by Studio Bozzetto & Co SRL in
Italy."
